UPDATE – Whinlatter Forestry Work

The essential forestry works at Whinlatter are progressing well. As a result the main car park and toilets are now open. Traffic management is in place for this work at the entrance but the main car park is accessible.
The following trails and facilities remain closed due to the forestry work:
  • Wild Play Area ❌
  • Gruffalo Trail ❌
  • Altura North Mountain Bike Trail ❌
Open with diversions in place:
  • Red Walking Trail (Two Gills Trail) ✅
  • Blue Walking Trail (Comb Beck Trail) ✅
  • Green Walking Trail (Seat How Summit Trail) ✅
  • Quercus Mountain Bike Trail ✅
The starting point for all the trails with diversions is by Cyclewise, please follow all signage on site.
The Visitor Centre, Forest shop, Siskins Cafe, Cyclewise, Go Ape Whinlatter all remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A reminder that the B5292 Whinlatter Pass on the Braithwaite side remains closed due to emergency water pipe repair work. A diversion is in place to access the forest from Lorton.
