What Is The Cycle To Work Scheme?

The Cycle to Work Scheme

This is a salary sacrifice. This means the cost of your new bike and safety equipment is deducted from your salary as a non-cash benefit, so you save on tax and national insurance.

Cyclewise have two stores in Cumbria and we accept the following cycle to work vouchers : Cyclescheme, Bike2Work Scheme, Cycleplus, Caboodle, Vivup, C2W Support, Cycle Solutions and Cycle2work by Halfords – which allows you to purchase a bike tax free.

Contact your employer first to see which scheme they use, then visit us or call Whinlatter 017687-78711 / Cockermouth 01900 821998 and we can arrange a quote and forward you any necessary information. You can also contact us here.

How It Works?

Registration

Your employer registers with a scheme. Once registered they will publicise their favoured cycle to work scheme as an employee benefit.

Shop Visit

You, the employee, then visit your local bike shop, or browse online, to decide what you want. You apply for your voucher. The employer reviews your request and if eligible pays for the cycling equipment.

Bike Received

You, the employee, receive your bike and start your salary repayments. After 12 months the employer will have recovered their costs and you will have made a saving on the equipment. As the repayments are deducted from your salary as a non-cash benefit, so you save on tax and national insurance.
