Founded in 2004, Cyclewise has steadily evolved into a leading name in the cycling industry. Our journey is filled with countless memorable moments. To illustrate, here are a few of the highlights that have defined our success:

Key Milestones in Cyclewise History

2004: Pioneering Mountain Bike Leadership in the UK

In 2004, we made history by becoming the first certified Mountain Bike Leaders in the UK. This milestone marked the inception of Cyclewise and set the stage for our future accomplishments.

2005: Launch of Bikeability Courses

The following year, we launched our first Bikeability course. Since then, we have successfully trained over 50,000 children across Cumbria, thus significantly contributing to cycling education.

2008: Opening of Cyclewise Whinlatter Shop & Bike Hire Centre

The grand opening of our Whinlatter Shop & Bike Hire Centre in 2008 represented a major milestone. Since its inception, the center has garnered numerous awards for our workshop and tourism services. Additionally, we played a crucial role in developing the Altura Trails.

2010: British Cycling Leadership Awards

In 2010, we played a pivotal role in the creation of the British Cycling Leadership Awards and became the first tutors of the program. This involvement underscored our commitment to fostering leadership within the cycling community.

2012: British Cycling Accreditation

Our Whinlatter venue achieved a significant achievement in 2012 by becoming the first center to receive official British Cycling Accreditation. This recognition solidified our reputation and commitment to excellence within the industry.

2015: Cyclewise Cockermouth Store Launch

In 2015, we opened our Cyclewise Cockermouth store, coinciding with Storm Desmond. This day, memorable for various reasons, marked another significant expansion of our presence.

With over 20 years of experience in biking and the outdoor industry, Cyclewise has served as Legal Expert Witnesses and Technical Advisors.
