Advanced E-Bike Maintenance Course

This advanced electric bike maintenance course is designed for those of you who already have a little experience of cycle maintenance but would like to increase that knowledge further. We can help you to become a better bike mechanic and reduce the time your bike is off the trails.

Our Cytech qualified tutors will show you just how easy it is to fix many problems. We can also show you how to upgrade a component, saving you both time and a lot of money in the long run.

If you can already fix a puncture, tune your gears and tighten your headset, this is the course for you. If you can not complete these basics, we would recommend completing our beginner’s bike maintenance course before attending this one to ensure you get the most out of the course.

Note: This course is for BOSCH and Shimano E-bikes only.

Please ensure your bike is clean before attending.
If you require any new parts, this will be an additional cost. If you would like to upgrade a certain component, please bring those along with you or contact our shop on 017687-78711 to order the required parts. Please make sure you give us plenty of time to get those organised for you.

The Course Includes:

Rebuilding cup and cone hubs
Wheel tru-ing
Sealed bearing principles in hubs
Strip bike down to frame
Clean and degrease drive train
Disassemble headsets, clean re-grease, and reassemble
Re fit all parts
Replace cables
Set up gears
Set up brakes (Brake bleeding if time allows)
Run soft wear diagnostic and update
Test ride

The Course Does Not Include:

Suspension Service
Dropper seat post service
Replacing Frame bearings
Replacing Shock bushes
Motor removal (although this may have to be done to replace cables)

Next door to the classroom we have our Cytech Accredited Service Centre and Whinlatter Bike Shop. Here you can purchase your very own set of tools or any tooling you are missing before you leave for home.

Instructor Ratio: 1:6 maximum – we keep our training ratios low to ensure our tutor can spend the time required with each person on the course.

We also offer Electric Bike Guided Rides & Electric Bike Skills courses. The skills course usually runs the day before our guided ride. This is an ideal opportunity to hone up on your skills on our purpose-built coaching trail before a day out on the natural terrain.
