Cyclewise Training is proud to be involved in the delivery of Cumbria County Council's 'Better Ways to School' project. This encourages children to get out on their bikes with all the skills and safety information they need to remain safe on the roads.
Working in partnership with Cumbria's road safety team, Cyclewise Training has helped to design a cycle training programme that will be delivered to all of Cumbria's 360 schools. This level 1 training is an exciting opportunity for all the children in Cumbria to learn new bike skills and receive very important safety information. This year (2009/10) we will be visiting another 40 schools and delivering training to over 2000 children.
The objective of the scheme is to encourage more children to cycle to school. The training has been developed to give the children all the skills and knowledge they need to be safe and to be seen whilst out riding not only to school, but when out with family and friends etc. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the bike shops in Cumbria for their support of the 'Better Ways to School' (BWTS) project. Please take a look at our Recent Courses Photo Gallery page for some pictures of the training taking place and check out the website www.bwts.net for more information about the whole scheme.
